BIOGRAPHY

Ivonne Sthandier was born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1963. At a young age, she moved to Washington D.C. - U.S.A. where thereafter she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture at Syracuse University, New York. Upon graduation, she moved back to Washington D.C. to work for Dillingham / Ohbayashi Construction on the extension of the Wheaton tunnel (Maryland) of the Washington Metro. Subsequently, she moved to Vicenza, Italy to work as chief designer for Cavazza Architecture Studio. In the following 10 years she worked on a wide variety of projects ranging from urban master plans and restructuring of antique buildings to the design of contemporary public, commercial and residential buildings as well as furniture and interior design. She obtained a second degree in architecture from the Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia, Venice, Italy and is a registered architect in Verona, Italy since 1996. She is principal and founder of STHANDIER DESIGN since 1996, concentrating her work on building design and restructuring with a special focus on industrial and furniture design. She is currently based in Verona, Italy
