MICROARCHITECTURE

This term was selected to better render the core idea in our industrial and furniture design work, since other terminology seemed reductive. Microarchitecture is simply the result of the process of miniaturization and down-scaling of the structural concepts in building construction, thereby obtaining more freedom in expressing the essence of one specific design idea. Our intent is to create usable concept signature pieces designed for varying contexts. Microarchitecture is different from building design in that although buildings are used by many people just as, say, furniture may be, the complexity of functions in a building requiring specific address are so vast that rarely you have the luxury to work on one single specific design theme. The goal in microarchitecture is to achieve the materialization of the essence of a designed objects’ theme that is born from the merging of context, intent, idea and industry.
